About Challenge
Challenge Reno is a student organization that wants to help people connect with an authentic group of friends, explore what it means to take the next step in their relationship with Jesus and together find practical ways to change our world. We hope to create an environment where everyone feels welcome to come make new friends and explore spiritual things. We do this through worship and teaching, small group Bible studies, fun events, one-on-one discipleship, community service projects, retreats, conferences, and mission trips.

Matt and Ellie Bustamante
Directors
Matt and Ellie met and became involved in Challenge while studying at Chico State. They saw God work in their lives through serving and putting Jesus first in their lives. They got married after graduating in 2021 and now have a daughter, Lainey! They were on staff at Chico State for 5 years before moving to Reno to start a new Challenge in the Fall of 2025! They love the biblical vision of discipleship and being able to participate in the Great Commission. Together, they enjoy being outside, rock climbing, playing games, and helping students connect with Jesus.

Logan and Becca Jodie
Staff
Logan and Becca joined staff with Christian Challenge in 2026 after graduating college and getting married in Chico California. As students they were involved in Christian Challenge at Chico State where they grew in their personal walks with Jesus. Now it is their great joy to serve in ministry with Challenge here in Reno. They are excited to invest in the lives of students and further God’s kingdom on UNR’s campus.
